Hi! My name is Kayte (Katie) and I make everything you will find on this site. I've been sewing for as long as I can remember, my mom and grandma taught me how on a little pink Singer when I was about 5. I "lost" sewing for a few years and would get in the mood to make something every-once-in-a-while for my friends.
In October 2007 my friend Jaymes and I were driving back from LA and started talking about his new project, Avenues & Alleyways, and he convinced me that I should try my hand at selling things I make. So I thought, "Sure, why not? It never hurts to TRY" and haven't looked back since. At first I started out making half aprons, blankets for kids and purses but I really wanted to make something that was different from everyone else. Then, I got a bike and the marvelous idea to make bike basket liners popped into my head! In the past year I've sold at many craft shows , LA Derby Doll bouts and even had a booth at Warped Tour this summer!
I love fabric. There's just something about matching colors and prints that don't normally "go together" that makes me happy. I can spend hours at a fabric store and not even notice. I also love going on bike rides with my friends and can usually be found riding on PCH most weekends between Long Beach and Newport. Anyhow, thanks for stopping in and checking everything out.
